This Edison Standard Phonograph is a typical example of an early 20th century phonograph assembled in Australia.
The oak case and bedplate are an Edison Standard Type B from 1905. The overhead carriage with the Diamond B reproducer is post 1907. Note that this machine also has a 2-4 minute attachment to allow both 2 and 4 minute cylinders to be played on it. The very Australian feature is the 11-panel cygnet horn.
